About the Project

As a cornerstone of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, Qiddiya is designed to be a global capital of entertainment, sports, and the arts. At the heart of this sprawling giga-project is the Qiddiya Transport Hub, a critical infrastructure node designed to seamlessly manage the influx of millions of international and domestic visitors. SS KHOZAMA was selected as a primary civil works partner to establish the literal foundation of this logistical masterpiece.

The site for the transport hub presented extraordinary topographical challenges, situated amidst the dramatic, unforgiving terrain of the Tuwaiq mountains. Before any vertical construction could begin, our teams had to engineer a stable, level, and safe footprint out of steep, rocky inclines. This required a highly coordinated orchestration of heavy machinery, specialized drilling equipment, and a massive fleet of articulated dump trucks working around the clock.
Our mandate extended beyond mere earthmoving. SS KHOZAMA was responsible for designing and executing the temporary logistical road networks that allowed other contractors to access the rugged upper plateau. By meticulously managing the displacement of hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil, we ensured that the project maintained its aggressive schedule without compromising the natural aesthetic of the surrounding cliffs.

Specialized Rock Engineering & Cliff Stabilization

Because the transport hub is nestled against high vertical drops, securing the perimeter was our highest priority. The scope of work captured in this phase highlights our geotechnical engineering capabilities, specifically our rock scaling and slope stabilization operations.

Our specialized crews utilized heavy-duty elevated work platforms to apply high-strength shotcrete (sprayed concrete) to the excavated mountain walls, reinforcing the natural rock fissures. Combined with deep rock-bolting techniques and tensioned soil anchors, SS KHOZAMA successfully mitigated the risk of rockfalls and landslides. The continuous flow of materials, coordinated by our logistical teams, ensured that the reinforcement materials arrived exactly when needed, allowing the foundation of the transport hub to be anchored safely into the mountainside.
