Powering the Future: Heavy Logistics at Scale
To support the Kingdom's ambitious transition toward sustainable power and the goals of Vision 2030, our heavy logistics and civil divisions mobilized for the massive 2GW Satarah Wind Turbine Project. Stretching across vast expanses of the Saudi desert, this monumental renewable energy initiative required an unprecedented level of logistical coordination and heavy-duty civil engineering to bring the vision to life.
Before the first turbine could be erected, SS KHOZAMA was tasked with preparing the remote site. This involved grading miles of access roads capable of withstanding extreme heavy-haul traffic, as well as pouring the massive, deep-anchored concrete foundations required to stabilize the towering wind turbines against high desert shear winds. By ensuring the ground-level infrastructure was flawless, we paved the way for the delicate and complex installation phase of the project.


Precision Lifting and Specialized Transport
The most critical challenge of the Satarah Wind Project was the transportation and assembly of the supersized turbine components. Moving fiberglass blades exceeding 80 meters in length and nacelles weighing hundreds of tons across arid, uneven terrain required our specialized heavy-haul fleet. Using state-of-the-art multi-axle modular trailers, our logistics team safely navigated these colossal components from the port directly to the remote installation pads.
Once on-site, our heavy-lifting division took over. Utilizing high-capacity crawler cranes, our operators executed precision lifts to stack the towering steel mast sections and carefully attach the rotor blades. These operations required meticulous weather monitoring and millimeter-perfect maneuvering to ensure the safety of the crew and the integrity of the multi-million-dollar turbine components. Through seamless coordination between our transport and lifting teams, SS KHOZAMA successfully accelerated the commissioning of one of the region's largest wind farms.
